National food processing / packaging manufacturer requires Sales and Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) living in the Pietermaritzburg/Howick area, who also has technical sales experience. The successful candidate will manage and support customers in the packaging industry.
Requirements to qualify for the position:
✓ N6 Certificate / National Diploma or BTech / degree: Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering
✓ Ability to understand, speak, read and write Afrikaans (to be able to communicate with Afrikaans speaking farming community)
✓ Technical sales experience in manufacturing, engineering, packaging
✓ Experience in either cost estimation, price negotiation, contract management, pricing, analysing figures etc.
✓ Own transport essential
✓ KZN Midlands resident, preferably in the PMB/Howick area and surrounds
Key Performance Areas:
✓ Customer service and sales support
✓ Building strong customer relationships
✓ Managing sales budget and gross margins
✓ Attending to customer complaints effectively
✓ Responding to technical service requests, troubleshooting issues etc.
✓ Auditing customer equipment
✓ Liaising between customer, planning and internal sales to ensure accurate forecasting
✓ Understanding customer’s business and providing appropriate solutions
