Instrumentation Technician
Beverage / Food Processing company in Grabouw / Elgin in the Western Cape (Overberg) requires Instrumentation Technician with Matric / Grade 12, trade tested as Instrumentation Mechanician / National Diploma: Electrical Engineering (Light Current / Process Control) and 5years relevant experience in beverage / food processing / FMCG environment. You must have excellent PLC (preferably Siemens & SCADA) and electronic drawing experience and knowledge to be considered for the position. You must have valid driver’s license and own transport
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible:
- for routine maintenance and repairs on all instrumentation equipment according to planned maintenance schedules within the plant
- Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic and programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
- Instrument calibrations within the plant
- commissioning of all instrumentation effective following with repair and replacement.
- Write programs and draw up electrical drawings for new installations and maintain electrical drawings of plant equipment.
- Compiling service reports and ensuring instrumentation history data is up to date.
- Conduct new installations and implement procedures.
- Assist with training of Production staff on new PLC controlled equipment.
- Ensure cost effective procurement of equipment / electronic spares.
Desired Experience & Qualification
You must have Matric / Grade 12, trade tested as Instrumentation Mechanician / National Diploma: Electrical Engineering (Light Current / Process Control) and 5years relevant experience in beverage / food processing / FMCG environment. You must have excellent PLC (preferably Siemens & SCADA) and electronic drawing experience and knowledge
