National packaging company in Paarl, (Western Cape) requires Electrical Design Engineer (Motion Control Specialist) with National Diploma / BTech / BSc / BEng: Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering and at 3-5 year’s experience in motion control automation application and commissioning of control systems (SERVO and or STEPPER motors (specifying, programming, setting-up, slaving thereof) in the packaging industry (building and commissioning).
Experience in PLC automation design and commissioning of control systems (SERVO / STEPPER), programming using SIEMENS TIA Portal (essential).
Alternate programming software knowledge, including CODESYS, Allen Bradley Compact Logix, Delta ISP Soft, B&R Automation Studio and one to two years’ experience in electrical circuit design on E-plan platform would be added advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design of electrical and automation systems in the building and commissioning of high-speed Packaging / Food processing machinery and equipment.
You will be responsible to produce detailed electrical drawings, layout diagrams and control programs, to specify electrical components required, to test and revise control programs during testing phase, commissioning of machinery and equipment, provide technical support during the building process and provide customer support.
